avolve designs was established to provide services for progressive organisations, artists and small businesses. In seeking to fill what was seen as a void, providing such services constituted one aspect of a desire to further our own actions seeking progressive social change in tangible ways. Our approach reflects our core ethics.

Our ethics are based on committing to actions that minimize our negative social and environmental impacts, and moving towards a more sustainable and just society. Providing services to individuals and organisations that promote a sustainable, culturally diverse and just society provides one means to achieve this.

Central to our ethical approach, we promote and use open source applications and are active collaborators in the development of such projects. This is also rooted in our ethics. The collective benefits of collaboration and partnership are given back to the respective open source communities, rather than locked away in proprietary software. This, of course, has direct benefits for our clients in the elimination of licensing fees. Indirectly, the use of open source applications supports and enhances community based approaches—for mutual and collective benefit.
